Terms of Service

Research Grove · Last updated 7 August 2026 · 한국어

These terms govern your use of Research Grove (the “Service”), a hosted tool that reads the research papers in your library and maintains a set of concept notes from them. By creating an account you agree to them.

1. The service

Research Grove extracts text from papers you supply, generates concept notes and a research map from that text, and proposes updates to those notes as new papers arrive. You review and approve each proposed update. The Service is provided on an “as is” basis and is under active development.

2. Your account

You must provide a valid email address. You are responsible for activity under your account. One account is for one person; sharing credentials is not permitted. You may delete your account at any time from within the app, which erases your data as described in section 6.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the papers you upload and to the notes generated from them. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the Service: to store your files, process their text, and generate notes for you. We do not use your library, your notes, or your questions to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell or share them.

You are responsible for having the right to upload each paper. Do not upload material you are not licensed to hold a copy of.

4. Generated notes

Notes and maps are produced by language models. Every claim they attribute to a paper is checked against the paper's own text before it is shown to you, but no automated check is perfect. Notes are a reading aid, not a source of record. Verify anything you intend to cite against the original paper.

5. Payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Prices are shown before purchase and include any tax Paddle is required to collect in your jurisdiction.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you selected until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

6. Data and deletion

Deleting your account removes your account record, your uploaded files, the text extracted from them, your notes, your research map, your conversations and approval history, and the record of which papers you hold. What the shared cache retains is about a paper rather than about you — bibliographic details and derived vectors and structured facts — and it carries no statement about any person and is not linked to you after deletion. A minimal payment ledger (transaction identifiers and amounts) is kept separately, detached from your identity, for accounting and refund obligations. Individual subscribers can download the product workspace as a versioned Markdown ZIP before deletion. That paid product export is separate from privacy rights: a legal data access request is available on every plan by emailing [email protected].

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the Service, access other users' data, resell access, or use the Service to process material unlawfully. We may suspend an account that does. Automated bulk downloading of publisher content through the Service is not permitted.

8. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, and we may change or discontinue features. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to the address on your account at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the revised terms.

10. Language

This English text is the authoritative version. A Korean translation is provided to help you read it; where the two differ, this version governs. Nothing here limits the consumer rights your own country's law gives you.

11. Contact
